Comic Live Show: comics and the hobby explained
Every Monday evening, Shortbox Comics goes live. Not to rush you into buying comics, but to slow things down and talk about them. What they are, why they matter and how they fit into reading and collecting.
The Comic Live Show started back in 2018 as a simple live sale. Over the years, it evolved into something very different: a community-driven show built around conversation, knowledge and a shared love for comics.
A show without pressure
The Comic Live Show is intentionally relaxed. You can watch live, join the chat, listen in while doing something else or just catch the parts that interest you. There is no countdown, no forced hype and no obligation to buy.
Each week we talk about new series, first impressions and what makes certain issues interesting for readers or collectors. Sometimes that means enthusiasm, sometimes healthy doubt. Not every comic is for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine.
Comics first, claims later
To keep the live show calm and focused on content, the comics discussed during the show are made available earlier via our WhatsApp Claim Club. This allows collectors to claim comics before, during or after the show, without pressure.
The live show itself is about explanation instead of urgency, context instead of hype and conversation instead of countdowns. Claims are secondary. Comics come first.
Built with the community
Over the years, the Comic Live Show has been shaped by its audience and the sidekicks that all joined from the community. Different opinions are welcome, discussions are encouraged and humour is part of the format. Sometimes we dive deep, sometimes we keep it light, and occasionally we throw in a quiz or a surprising topic.
We don’t try to convince anyone to buy everything. The goal is simple: to have fun, help you enjoy your hobby and help you decide what fits you best, whether that means reading, collecting or simply enjoying the conversation.
When does it happen?
Monday 19:30 – Shortbox Monday Drop via the WhatsApp Claim Club
Monday 20:30 – 22:00 – Comic Live Show on YouTube and Facebook. The links are shared via our WhatsApp Updates group.
